Farming Timer

farming-timer

A watch over the green. Keeps time for your patches and farm animals, and whispers when a run is worth the walk.

beta1.0.0tested on 2.12.1.0

The spell · Overview

Patches keep their own time, and they do not tell you what hour it is. Plant, walk away, and the only way to know whether anything has grown is to go and look. This one watches for you, and says when the round is worth walking.

Reagents

  • prettyui, from the Plugin Hub
  • Internet access, to check the game's clock

Its effects · Features

  • Floating countdowns over nearby patches, red when diseased and green when ready.
  • A Farm run view that lists what needs you, keeps your stops in the order you walk them, and names the next one with its teleport.
  • Each patch shows its stage. Allotments and flowers also show whether they are watered or protected by a flower.
  • Disease, death and a cure are picked up from the patch itself when you are near it.
  • Expanded locations show a Get there row of up to four routes, in the recommended order.
  • A Regrowing tab for fruit trees and bushes, showing how much produce each holds and when it will be full.
  • Harmony pillars shown by stage, growing with the XP of their skill rather than with time, and left out of ready counts.
  • An Animals tab for your Player Owned Farms at Manor Farm and Anachronia: pens grouped by size, when each animal reaches its next stage, trough levels, and alerts for stage changes and births.
  • A Diagnose helper that asks which part of a sick animal to check and narrows the symptoms to the disease to pick in the treatment list.
  • Patches and animals are read only while you are there. Away from them, times are projected from your last visit.

Incantations · Settings

Open Settings from the cog beside farming-timer in the Plugin Hub's Manage list.

SettingDefaultEffect
SettingShow times asDefaultTime leftEffectTime left, Ready at (game time), or Both. Game time is the in game clock.
SettingDismissed patchesDefaultNoneEffectPatches you bin from the list stay off it until a different crop grows there. Restore brings one back.

Binding · Install

  1. 01Install it from the Plugin Hub. The window is built from its components and will not load without it.
  2. 02Build it and load it from dist/ as the landing page describes. Its patch, seed and animal data ships with it.
  3. 03The internet access permission is optional. With it, the plugin checks the game's clock against the time from secure.runescape.com every few minutes. Without it, the game's clock is used alone.
  4. 04Open it from the ribbon bar icon. It starts hidden.

Timers, your run order, settings, dismissed patches and animal data are kept between sessions.

Wards · Limitations

Growth is read from the cycle the crop is on, so anything that bends a cycle outside the usual rules will read wrong.

Patches are read within 20 tiles of you, and on your floor only.

Cacti show no produce count, so a grown cactus stays on the Farm run tab.

Tree stumps show as regrowing, with no time.

Jade vines and crystal acorns show Growth time unknown.

Compost is not taken into account.

An animal's age is only known if it arrived or was born while the plugin was running.

Some routes have no icon and are left out of Get there, and Draynor Manor has none at all.

The Garden of Tranquillity, Burthorpe grapevines, Miscellania and quest patches are not covered.

Spotted a hex gone wrong? Send word (opens in a new tab) and the spell grows in potency.
